Through my journey of self-worth, I found my voice as a feminist. I realized how much I had longed for true community with women—how, even as a self-proclaimed feminist, I had still centered my ideals and values around men. Recovering from my own mental health struggles felt like an awakening, as if I had stepped into an entirely new world. But with this transformation came a pattern of abandonment—people who once surrounded me drifted away when I no longer sought their validation. On a broader scale, women who embrace their individuality and confidence are often misunderstood, even resented, by those who once depended on their self-doubt. And now, we are watching this play out on a systemic level. As women reclaim their autonomy—over their bodies, their identities, their futures—there is a force desperately trying to push us back into silence. The fight for our rights is being reframed as rebellion. Our independence is being labeled selfish. But the truth is, we are not lost—we are found. And the world is simply uncomfortable with women who no longer ask for permission to exist.
